The 24th GoMovies

The 24th tells the incredibly powerful and timely true story of the all-black Twenty-Fourth United States Infantry Regiment, and the Houston Riot of 1917. The Houston Riot was a mutiny by 156 African American soldiers in response to the brutal violence and abuse at the hands of Houston police officers. The riot, which lasted two hours, led to the death of nine civilians, four policemen and two soldiers and resulted in the largest murder trial in history, which sentenced a total of nineteen men to execution, and forty-one men to life sentences.

The 24th GoMovies Review

I liked the movie The 24th, thanks to the boring dialogue between the characters and the really intriguing moment of their interaction with each other, 101 minutes of time were well spent.

A wonderful movie with a twisted plot, which in 2020 was accompanied by great posters and promo shots, it was nice to see Aja Naomi King, Bashir Salahuddin, Cuyle Carvin, David King, Mo McRae, Mykelti Williamson, Thomas Haden Church, Tosin Morohunfola, Trai Byers in one project.

It was the first movie in the genre of Drama, History, after which I had a double impression: on the one hand, it was interesting to watch the characters, and on the other, some of the actors clearly lacked experience.

Kevin Willmott set the movie at a frantic pace, all 101 minutes, from start to finish, the action does not let go, while it goes harmoniously, without sudden jumps and plot failures.

To my surprise, Kevin Willmott managed to very succinctly and gracefully tell a seemingly ordinary story, in which each character deserves special attention.

Without a good acting role, watching The 24th would have been simply unbearable, Aja Naomi King, Bashir Salahuddin, Cuyle Carvin, David King, Mo McRae, Mykelti Williamson, Thomas Haden Church, Tosin Morohunfola, Trai Byers managed to convey the characters of the characters so naturalistically that it is almost impossible to tear yourself away from what is happening on the screen.
